The woman didn't offer Conan any chocolate, also he wasn't even introduced to the victim. Why did they ignore him?

i guess his fame as Kaito Kid's arch-nemesis hasn't spread to the foodie, chocolatier, patissier circles just yet? either that or the two of them have never read the front page of any of Japan's newspapers. maybe they've been working too hard to pay attention to the TV news, internet, or anything other than getting that shop opened?
